SUSAN CHODAKEWITZ

 Susan is a writer and composer. Her company State of the ART -- Bringing Stories to Life develops stories for film, television, theatre, books and children's literature. She has produced various staged readings of new musicals in Los Angeles and is currently developing several projects for TV and film with her State of the ART partner Phyllis Zimbler Miller.  Children’s books written by Ms. Chodakiewitz include Mr. Blueberry and the Fish From Down The Street (with Lauren Grabois), 
Too Many Visitors For One Little Household, Cookie Fever, and Vanillaville.  She has also written two musicals including Searching for Eden (with Hindy Kellerman) Vanillaville the Musical (with Thea Iberall and Erica Stux). 

 

Susie launched her new company Booksicals- encouraging a love of reading through the arts. In 2009 her debut picture book Too Many Visitors for One Little House (available at Amazon and select Barnes and Noble bookstores) is now being performed by the Booksicals Repertory Company at schools, libraries and special events.  Susie is partnering with corporate and individual sponsors to bring Booksicals performances to children's hospitals and underpriviliged children. Susan studied keyboards, music theory and notation with Cat for a few years.  She worked with him in pre-production for some of her musicals.
