JAMIE GREEN

Cat Cohen Alumni

Jamie is a haunting evocative singer with intensely emotional moody songs who writes about political issues, women's issues, love and platonic relationships, existential type questions, sex, spirituality and the whys and woes of life. She is currently working on her third album, which production-wise is heavily influenced by Dido and Seal.

Reviewers from magazines such as Music Connection, Campus Circle, and Entertainment Today have described her as a smooth, entertaining combination of beauty and strength packed with powerful writing, vocals, musicianship often prowling the stage. She is a striking figure with riveting, incisive lyrics and good old-fashioned handcrafted melodies and hooks to draw the listener in. Her confessional lyrics don’t just empower the artist but also empower the listener as well.  Even the folks lingering in the back of the room couldn't help but get sucked into her rapture.  Green’s biggest asset is her powerful voice which falls somewhere between the styles of Alanis Morissette and Fiona Apple and her collection of songs comes together like an issue of Best American Short Stories.

Her two previously released CDs both won LA Music Awards awards.  MY CRIME” as *Outstanding Independent Pop Album* (2000) “TRUCE” as *Adult Alternative Album of the Year* (2003).

Jamie attended Cat Cohen’s UCLA songwriting classes and participated in his song structure workshops.
