LIZ HOWARD

Liz is an accomplished opera and art song singer who has taught voice to countless students and professionals over the past three decades. Ms. Howard holds a B.S. and M.S. in voice from the Juilliard School and is on the voice faculty of Pepperdine University. She has also taught voice at Indiana University, University of Southern California and Hunter College in New York City. Elisabeth maintained a private vocal studio for twenty years in New York City before moving to Los Angeles where she founded the Vocal Power Academy.  

She has trained certified Vocal Power Instructors in Los Angeles, Italy, Brazil, Germany, Texas and a Vocal Power Academy branch in Las Vegas.

  Clients have appeared on American Idol, Star Search, TV series, film, recording, Broadway, Off-Broadway and National tours.

 

Ms. Howard is the author of SING! book and 4 CDs and the ABC's of Vocal Harmony book and CD's and co-author of the Born to Sing DVD distributed by Alfred Publishing.  She is a member of Actors Equity Association, AFTRA and is a voting member of the Grammy organization, NARAS. Elisabeth Past President of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Her list of industry clients ranges from Lisa Marie Presley to Sting.  Among the many accolades from her numerous students and colleagues are “This training has carried me through years of professional singing,”

Reviews of her performances include Music Connection Magazine, in Los Angeles, which described her singing in her one-woman show, Opr'a to Pop'ra, as “a talent to be reckoned with.”  
Another review of her concert where she collaborated with the Cypress “Pops” Orchestra in California said - “Elisabeth Howard wows the audience!"

 



 

Elisabeth and Cat Cohen go back well over 30 years to when she studied keyboards with Cat and collaborated with him on a couple of pop songs.  They formed a friendship that has lasted through the years.  On occasion, Liz has invited him be a judge at her Vocal Power Workshop competitions.
