Lis is a voice teacher and performance coach in Los Angeles, CA. She has been training recording artists for over 30 years. Her web site, The Singers Workshop, provides information, news and products of interest to pop singers. Lis is the author of the books The Singers First Aid Kit and The Pop Singers Warm-Up Kit both published by Hal Leonard.
Lewis’ training started as a child at the world famous Dalcroze School of Music in New York City as well as with private music teachers. She attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and has a Masters Degree in Theater and Music. She has taken postgraduate classes in management, publicity and marketing.
As a vocal coach or vocal producer Lis has worked with many remarkable people, some of whom are Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, The Pussycat Dolls, band members from Linkin Park, and Journey just to name a few.
Lewis has been the vocal coach for several TV shows including the entire season of "Rock Star: Supernova" on CBS and the MTV show "Rock The Cradle". She was also a guest expert on "The UK Music Hall of Fame" and episodes of TLC's "A Makeover Story", TV Guide Channel's "Idol Chat" and "Reality Chat", Andrew "Dice" Clay's series "Dice Undisputed" on VH1 and "Miss America: Reality Check".
As a visiting lecturer or as an artist-in-residence, Lis has taught at numerous colleges, music conferences and music schools.
Lis studied piano accompaniment with Cat. They continue to see each other often as participants in pop music industry events as Taxi.com’s Road Rally.
